Local rugby results



Buccaneers came back from 14-0 down to defeat UCD by 25 points to 20 at Dubarry Park on Saturday afternoon

An Eoin Joyce try and the penalty kicking boot of James Thornton gave College that 14 point lead early in the second half but Buccs carved out the win with tries from Jack Carty, Alex Hayman and Billy Henshaw

Carty also kicked a brace of penalties and conversions

It leaves the Midlanders in third place in the Ulster Bank League Division One B after a run of five wins in a row

Cill Dara inflicted just the second defeat of the season for Leinster League Division One A leaders Tullamore on Saturday evening

Kildare got an injury time try to win 20-14, the loss leaves Tullamore with a ten point lead with four games left

Gorey kept their Division Two A title hopes alive with a 25-6 win over Mullingar

Portarlington will be expected to pick up the points on today when they welcome County Carlow to the Lea Road for a 2.30 kick off, Carlow have lost all nine of their Division One B games this season

In 2A Portlaoise are away to joint leaders Malahide while it’s third against fourth as New Ross host Roscrea

Edenderry, who were in fine form before the break, take on second place North Kildare at Carbury in Division Two B with both sides hoping to keep pressure on leaders Railway Union

And in Division Three it’s North Meath against the Midlands Warriors and there’s a west Offaly derby between the West Offaly Lions and Birr at Gallen Community School
