It was an excellent weekend for Midlands athletes at the Leinster Indoors in Athlone IT
St Abban's Barry Regan is the Leinster Senior 60 metres and 200 metres champion, he won the 60 in a time of 7.25 seconds and 200 in 23.43, Mullingar Harriers' Shane Fitzsimons won gold in the 800 metres
Joseph Mulligan of Tullamore was second in the weight with St Abban's Eoin Kelly winning the triple jump
Emma Daly, also of Abban's, came second in the shot putt
In the Junior Competitions,
Tullamore Harriers' Dean Power won the 60 metres sprint in 7.05 seconds and the 200 metres in 22.35, Dean's clubmate Patrick Heffernan took silver in the 60 metres hurdles
St Abban's Siobhan Nash was a gold medalist in the 3000 metres walk, Aoife Campion of Portlaoise was third in the 400 metres
Portlaoise's Niamh Quinn won the 800 metres, Vicky Harris of Mullingar Harriers was second in the 200 metres
Mullingar Harriers' Stephen Nea was second in the 3000 metres with Portlaoise's Chris Finn in third
Padraig Moran of Mullingar came second in the 800 metres
Tullamore's Daragh Mac Namara was a silver medalist in the 40 metres while St. Abban's Conor Daly also took silver in the triple jump
It was a North Westmeath one two in the shot putt, Paul Collins' 15.55 metres was enough for gold, Eoin Sheridan was second with James Mulligan of Tullamore in third
James Mulligan, also of Tullamore Harriers, won the weight with Conor Mulligan in second
And in the Masters,
Colm Walsh of Mullingar Harriers came second in the 3000 metres for Over 35s
Portlaoise's Seamus Fitzpatrick won gold in the over 35s shot putt and weight
John Territt was the gold medalist in the over 50s shot putt and weight
Edenderry's Pat Mangan won the Over 55's 60 metres, Micheal Flynn of Tullamore won the Over 55s high jump
Tullamore Harriers Michael Flynn won the Over 55s Long and Triple Jumps, Tom Feighery was second in the Over 55s weight
Tullamore's Mary Walsh won the Over 65s 200 and 400 metres
Sean McMullin from Mullingar Harriers won the 3000 metres walk
In the underage relays, Edenderry won the boys under 12 4 X 100 metres with Mullingar Harriers second
Tullamore Harriers were second in the 4 X 200 metres Boys Under 14s and the Girls Under 16 4 X 200
