Extra time defeat for Athlone IT

Athlone IT have lost out 3-2 to DIT after extra time in the semi finals of the Umbro CUFL Cup

DIT were 2-0 up at half time but Athlone drew themselves level at the end of normal time thanks to goals from Willow Park's Sean Brennan and Athlone Town's Brian Gill

The Dublin students scored the only goal in the extra half hour at Coolock and will go on to face either Carlow IT or DCU in the final


Following a pitch inspection this afternoon Athlone Town's Under 19s final league of the season against Mervue goes ahead at Lecarrow at 8pm this evening

Town have already secured the league title
